Final Year Project Help

Hi, I am looking for some sort of guidance and help for my final year project. It is basically an online system for student projects management that has three main types of users: students, tutors/lecturers and administrator. These are some of the basic things that would be expected from the system to perform:

Β - Students need to be able to register and log on.

- Students should be able to view topics and tutors.

- Students should be able to select projects.

- Students should be able to upload different project stages documents.

- Students should be able to view feedback.

- Administrator should be able to initialise system with supervisors and students.

- Administrator should be able to remove students.

- Administrator should be able to create new views, time frames.

- Lecturer should be able to download projects and upload marks.

Β

So far, I have installed XAMPP as I'm going to be doing this on my own machine and I have successfully installed Moodle 2.4 on XAMPP following Β this:

http://docs.moodle.org/24/en/Windows_installation_using_XAMPP

Β

Now, I'd like some help firstly on how I could go about creating register page for new students, lecturers and then save their details in database so they could log in again and upload work or check student work etc.

I have looked at some videos on how you could 'upload users' as admin in moodle but is there a way students and lecturers could register the way I've mentioned above and then as admin you set up the moodle pages and content based on whether they're student or lecturer. Is there a need for me to create separate html pages and use things such as CSS, PHP etc or could I do everything from moodle itself? or Is there another approach that I could take for my project?

I'd really appreciate any kind of help or guide on this, thanks.
