I have issues with submission email alerts. The system (2.4) is set up like this at the moment. Each teacher has 2 roles. One is a non-editing teacher (called Trainer) set at site level. This is because we quite often have to get some teachers to move across to other classes to fill in for other teachers or sometimes we merge classes. Our teachers move around a lot and teach different classes sometimes off campus so they need access to all classes.
In most cases however, each teacher is assigned one class for which they are given the second role at course level, another non-editing teacher profile (called Teacher). There are multiple classes and they are set to separate groups. Only the role Teacher is set to receive email alerts on assignment submission and has "access all groups" deactivated, but because the site level Trainer profile is set to "access all groups" teachers receive emails from people not in their group. If I deactivate "access all groups" for trainer profile as well, then teachers will not be able to access other groups when needed, but if I leave it on, t they are receiving too many emails from students not in their group. Most teachers want the email alerts on, but are not happy with full email inboxes.
Any way out of this problem? I'd appreciate any help.
