Custom HTML page as link

I need to create some basic links from the front page (within the summary section) to link to new html pages (moodle 2.6).

I am using the resource (page module) to create the html pages and linking to these from the summary area mentioned above. Creating a link and pointing this link to the new html page works fine, BUT a Page module icon and link also appears at the bottom of the page (understandably) which I don't want. I have tried to hide the resource, but obviously this is fully hidden and not accessible even from the link created.

I do not have full access to the code base so trying to achieve this via admin functions.

Is there anyway that this can be hidden, but still accessible via the link?
